Good Morning & Happy Sunday!
I didn’t have to work on Tuesday so I was able to sleep in a little bit. I was up around 6:30 and laid in bed for a little while before throwing on some workout clothes.
I was too impatient to sit and eat before my workout so I grabbed a granola bar (I was out of Quest bars).
After that I headed downstairs to the gym and completed week 2 day 2 of C25K! Obviously I worked up quite a sweat, but it felt so good!
One of the Krogers near my house has a Starbucks inside so I stopped and picked up a Very Berry Hibiscus. A venti is only 150 calories so it’s a really refreshing treat!
I was starving the entire time I was shopping, but I still managed to get through it making healthy choices! As soon as I got to my car I grabbed a Quest bar to eat on my way home.
As soon as I got home I got to work on making fruit salad! I made so much I had to separate it into three big containers.
One container was just watermelon, another was watermelon and pineapple, and the last was strawberries, grapes, and blueberries!
After I finished up my fruit salad and making two other recipes, I had to rush to get out of the house so I could go get my hair cut!
It had been nearly a year since I’ve had my haircut and I don’t think I’ve ever gone that long before! A fresh cut felt so good!
I was at the salon for over an hour so I was pretty hungry by then. I knew I wouldn’t be eating dinner for at least a couple more hours so I grabbed some sea salt pita chips with hummus and some of the fresh fruit I had cut up earlier. I love watermelon season!!
Unfortunately for my blog, Wednesday was a long non-blog related day. I spent 11 hours at work and did really well health-wise. I did stress eat around 1:30, but the rest of my day perfect and right on track! After work I went over to my boyfriend’s house and ate taco salad and my own leftover fruit salad for dinner!
I was supposed to have Thursday off of work, but things changed and I ended up having to go in. I was under the impression it was only supposed to be for a couple hours in the morning so I grabbed my ice water and a Quest bar and went off to work. I didn’t bother packing a lunch and that was a big mistake! I ended up having to stay until 1:30 so around noon I was starving and ended up binging on “work food” which basically means unhealthy, bad for you food.
In order to keep myself occupied and away from binging I poured myself into my work and spent several hours working until dinner around 5:30. I find that that is the best way to keep me from eating out of boredom when I’m at home. Focus on my work to the point where I don’t even think about food!
Friday was pretty uneventful for the first half of my day since I spent it at work. But I do have to share that I resisted temptation at work all day long and that has not happened in a very long time. It definitely feels like an NSV to me!
I ended up leaving work at 2:30 which was awesome because I didn’t think I’d be out until 6.
After putt-putt we headed over to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner. I ordered a chicken enchilada with beans and rice with a water. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of my dinner, but trust me when I say it was delicious.
Because I’m such a rebel, I went a little crazy on Friday night… Home by 8 and in bed by 9:30. Hey, sleep is important!
Since I’ve been maintaining lately I’ve been pretty discouraged but on Saturday morning I put my new normal jeans on and I finally realized that they just won’t fit anymore! I can still manage to wear them when they’re freshly washed but there is no more pleasure in wearing them a second or third day because they fit just right… they don’t anymore! I tried a size smaller and they fit! Yes, these new jeans include a muffin top, but not for long! I took a before photo so once they fit really well, I’ll post the comparison.
I mentioned before that my weight has been maintaining so I decided it was time to go back to a WW meeting. I do need the support and accountability. It’s become very obvious in my choices lately. Before I left I filled my water bottle and let green tea soak while I was in my meeting. I have to get back in the habit of drinking my green tea every single day. I made a huge pitcher this morning and it’s already chilling in the fridge.
Anyway, it felt so good to be back at my meeting even though the results weren’t great and I have officially hit a plateau. The scale hasn’t moved a single ounce in a couple weeks, but, I’ll get through it! I was still thrilled about the jeans and just happy to be there!
For a late lunch, we decided on our favorite spot; Olive Garden! I started with a lemon water (instead of my usual Diet Pepsi) and then got a bowl of the Chicken & Gnocchi soup for 8 points. Instead of my usual 26 point cheese ravioli I opted for the 11 point grilled chicken Caesar salad. I left about a third of it on my plate because I was stuffed so it added up to about 8 points. Since I still had points left over for the day I splurged on 2 breadsticks instead of my usual one. When we go there for a late lunch, I usually don’t eat again that day because I’m so full. Sometimes, maybe I’ll have a snack later, but I didn’t have anything else last night. I ended my day with 26/30 points.
Once we got back from dinner, we relaxed on the couch and watched Pitch Perfect 2; one of my favorites! My fit points were really low and the clouds had finally disappeared. It ended up being a really beautiful, warm evening so after the movie we went out for a really long walk and I managed to get 7 fit points in. My goal is 12 per day so I was a little low, but I plan on hitting goal today!
