I managed to make it to my weigh in on Saturday morning. It was a very, very long never-ending week so I intended to sleep in a little, and if I made it, I made it. It wasn’t a big deal either way. I ended up waking up pretty early around 6:30 so I had plenty of time to get ready and head off to my weigh in. Like every other Saturday, breakfast was a post-weigh in Quest bar.
I ended up making up for my lack of sleep as soon as I got there. Three hours later… It was time for a movie and a small lunch.
It was a banana, watermelon, and a few crackers. Perfect to hold me over until dinner. I would have eaten a lot more if I was having an active day, but it most definitely was not.
Later on, we shared a small pizza. These are the times I’m super glad I barely used any points during the day. Plenty left over for a couple slices of pizza minus the guilt!
I love being able to indulge without feeling bad about everything I’m eating. I know it’s all about balance and moderation. I can still live my life and be healthy!
Sunday morning I made a delicious, and super filling breakfast! I had whole wheat pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, strawberries, and watermelon.
Before my workout I spent some time out on the back deck with my parents and the dogs. Clearly Jacoby is innocent…
Later on I finally used SWORKIT! I’ve had it downloaded for a while now but Sunday was the first time I’ve used it and I loved it! I’m just using the free version and I’ve found some awesome workouts! They have cardio, strength, yoga, and stretching. I started my workout with 15 minutes of stretching and then did a cardio workout. I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to endurance, but this is definitely going to be my go-to for quite a while. I love mixing up my workouts.
Lunch was delicious! I put turkey and mozzarella into a 2 point tomato basil Wellness wrap and it was so good.
Sunday afternoon was dedicated to meal prepping and I definitely plan to keep this up every weekend. I made lunches and dinners to get me through the week and keep me from going for quick, easy, and unhealthy. Prepping was actually kind of fun and I felt so accomplished when I was done. It’s been working out great this week and I see a huge difference in my eating habits.
I made one meal with chicken, quinoa, and peas.
I made the other with a salmon patty from Trader Joe’s, quinoa, and peas. I don’t have a lot of variety this time so I plan to make more variety next time. This was just a test run.
Monday was the 4th of July but it was much less eventful than you would think. I worked throughout the morning and caught up on homework before heading to Shakeer’s. We heard fireworks in the distance, but I didn’t see a thing. Michigan has been super dry the past few weeks so fireworks have been banned here. It was pretty nice to just relax though.
Tuesday night dinner was awesome! We had pineapple glazed salmon, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. These made awesome leftovers for the rest of the week!
After dinner I used my SWORKIT app again and did a 15 minute yoga session. It was really nice and relaxing since it was at such a slow pace. I definitely want to start finding more yoga videos on YouTube. After my yoga I did some squats, crunches, and push-ups then went on a 25 minute walk. It wasn’t much but the fact that I did any activity after work is a huge accomplishment for me. Normally I crash.
I hate to say it, but Wednesday and Thursday were nothing but work, work, work! But… my birthday is on Saturday and I have a lot of fun things planned over the weekend! I can’t wait to share!
I really hope I get a little bit of time to make two awesome recipes that I can share soon!
