Workouts & Concerts


To be totally honest, I’ve struggled this week, but my morning lemon water, green tea, and Shakeology get me going. Things have really been shaken up, but I’ve been having a lot of fun, too! 


I started my Friday morning with a long walk. I love walking through the neighborhood across the street from my house. It’s shady and peaceful. 


I walked for about 45 minutes before heading back to have my morning shake and heading off to work for the afternoon. 


After work I hurried home to change so me, my mom, and our neighbor could head out to Arts, Beats, & Eats a local festival held in Royal Oak every year. It’s been going on almost my entire life, but I’ve never gone before. I’m usually just busy or it’s over before I even realize it’s here. I’m really trying to make a point to plan fun things closer to home. 



We were so excited, we didn’t even bother to walk around and look at the art. We headed straight to the VIP section. I didn’t wanna miss a second of the show. 


After the “smaller” bands, the firs big one was Joan Jett! She was phenomenal and put on one hell of a show. I can only hope I look as good as her at that age! 


Buckcherry was next!! I’ve seen them a few times, and they never get old. 


I was surprised that they were allowed to play some of their songs, considering we were right in the middle of Royal Oak, but I was glad they did! 


I was exhausted after my long week on Saturday. I had something to do every single night after work and I’m definitely not used to that. 


Saturday was the perfect day for catching up on my work and watching movies at Shakeer’s house. I fell asleep about 10 minutes in to the scary movie we tried to watch. If it’s past 8PM, chances are I won’t last long! 


Sunday was another awesome day though! I got up early and put in a couple hours of work before heading over to Amy’s. We went to a nearby trail and just started walking! After walking for a while we decided to Google it and see exactly how long the trail was and if it would circle around. Turns out, it’s a total of 14 miles. 7 miles in and 7 miles back. Our goal is to do the full 14 miles by Thanksgiving. 




Today we did a total of 4 and we were pretty proud of that. Once I have a vehicle I can get my bike into, I would love to do bike rides down the trail. 14 miles would be much quicker on a bike than walking! 

This was the perfect was to start off my Sunday!


Since we were completely unprepared, we had to stop at a dollar store after we left. I rushed out of the house and didn’t even think about water! We also didn’t plan on 4 miles… I was dying of thirst. We learned our lesson. 



Later on I got my meal prep done. I made salmon, cod, turkey burgers, brown rice, and quinoa. I officially start my health bet tomorrow so I figured I might as well jump back on my 21 Day Fix too! 

I’m so glad that I’m not doing it alone. I have so much support around me and I can’t wait to see my results at the end of the month!
