Goals for 2017

Happy New Year!

One of my favorite times of year. It feels so refreshing and revitalizing.

If you know me or if you’re familiar with my blog, you know that I love setting goals and knocking them out.

What better day than today? 2016 was a pretty big year for me and I want to make 2017 even BIGGER and BETTER!

So here are a few things I’d like to accomplish!

  1. Pay off debt
I have a list of debt than I plan to pay off in 2017
  2. Publish 3 books
I published my first in 2015 and wasn’t able to pull off a publication last year, but I’ve been writing like crazy and plan to crank them out this year! I’m already writing my third book. Now I just have to work on the publishing process for my second.
  3. Publish 190 blog posts
The growth of my blog is a huge deal to me so I want to keep cranking out the content. I love connecting with people and sharing my journey.
  4. Make one new recipe per week
I’ve been doing better about getting in the habit of cooking more often so I thought it would be a good idea to try all those recipes I’ve wanted to make. My goal is to make one new one per week and share it on my blog!
  5. Read 20 books in 2017
As a writer, I obviously love reading. I’ve gotten really good about reading almost every single night before bed, but I want to up my reading and finish 20 books this year!
  6. Workout 5 days a week
Isn’t this everyone’s goal? Working out? Of course it is, but why not? Once you turn it into a routine, it’s so much easier to stick to.
  7. Go Back To School
With so much happening, I opted to leave school for a couple terms back at the end of summer (since I go all year round.) I’m taking this next term off, then heading back to school in the spring once I’m completely settled and can put 110% into my school work.
  8. Participate in 5 StepBets
I love the idea of participating in a StepBet. I take my money pretty seriously, so knowing that it’s on the line will always get my butt moving!
  9. Try one new restaurant per month
My mom and I have a ton of restaurants in the area we’ve been wanting to try so we’re going to treat ourselves to one new one per month. We’ll branch out from our usual stops and it’ll be a nice treat since I rarely eat out anymore.
  10. Complete one Spanish lesson per day
I’m getting better on my Spanish and keeping up on it daily will help so much!
  11. Apply to 3 editing jobs per day
I’ve been editing other writer’s stories lately and it’s an awesome side job. I really want to work on building my portfolio this year.
  12. Write something every single day
I used to make myself write a certain number of words daily, but I found that I felt more inspired when my focus changed from the number of words to the actual quality of the words. Now, I don’t care if I write 10 words in a day or 5,000 as long as I write and add value to my project.

I have a quite a few other goals I’d like to accomplish this year regarding my finances, my business (writing, editing, and blogging), and my personal life. I just figure you can never have too many!
